REVIEW: emesh presents Zayith

With zayith, Antonio Muñoz ventures into a territory where Deep Techno becomes a vessel for spiritual resonance. Released through his own Sendero Records, the album draws from the broader spectrum of his musical world — Ambient, Downtempo, Tribal, Psy, and Dub — and distills these influences into ten meticulously crafted tracks.

The listening experience is hypnotic. Low-end throb and percussive minimalism anchor the listener, while subtle melodic shifts and evolving atmospheres create a constant sense of movement. There’s a tactile quality to the sound design: metallic echoes ring out like ancient bells, textures drift like incense smoke, and each rhythmic pulse feels deliberate, almost ceremonial.

What elevates zayith is the integration of its conceptual core. Inspired by the olive tree’s sacred symbolism, the music doesn’t just suggest growth and resilience — it embodies them. By the time the album closes, you feel as though you’ve travelled a path from the earth’s deep roots to the sky’s open expanse.
