The most compelling aspect of Signal_ is its refusal to treat technology as neutral. Across seven carefully constructed tracks, Soulstize presents machines as active participants capable of influencing creative outcomes in unexpected ways.
Produced entirely through analog equipment, the release embraces unpredictability. Tiny fluctuations in sequencing, modulation and texture become central compositional elements. Rather than correcting these irregularities, Soulstize allows them to shape the music, resulting in tracks that feel alive and constantly evolving.
The sonic palette remains firmly rooted in contemporary hypnotic techno. Rolling percussion, looping synth motifs and immersive atmospheres form the foundation. Yet the execution avoids many of the genre's clichés. There is no excessive drama, no oversized breakdowns and no reliance on obvious peak-time formulas.
