Uniting for a hedonistic collaboration, esteemed Spanish producer Dosem returns to Purified Records alongside Korean-American talent SOHMI for The Light. Complete with an official remix by Montreal-based artist Sinca – The Light EP is out now.
Driven by a steady groove and hypnotic textures, The Light unfolds across an alluring, club-ready sonic journey that highlights Dosem and SOHMI’s undeniable musical synergy. Anchored by SOHMI’s enchanting vocals, the producers build a captivating arrangement that keep listeners transfixed from start to finish.
Speaking about the release, Dosem mentioned,
“After our collaboration on ‘Answer’, Sohmi and I reconnected through this track, and the connection felt immediate. We have always shared a very natural chemistry in the studio, and I have always admired both her voice and her artistry as a producer and DJ. We lived with the record for several months, testing it on dancefloors and refining it in search of the right balance between energy, elegance, and emotion. I tend to follow instinct more than technique when I start a new song, and this one spoke clearly from the beginning. I am very happy to be working with Sohmi again, and grateful to continue this journey with Purified. Sinca’s remix brings a beautiful final touch to the release.”
Shining a light on track’s foundations, SOHMI shared,
“I'm thrilled to join forces with Dosem again, this time with the support of Nora En Pure - an artist I've looked up to since my early days as a raver in Los Angeles. The original vocal idea and demo for this track was one of my earliest projects I ever started in Ableton, perhaps as long as seven years ago, but sat unfinished as many ideas do until Dosem helped breathe new life into it. Our musical synergy has always felt quite effortless, and he's one of those producers who just seems to understand how to create the proper depth and soul around a promising vocal idea. He's treated every single one of our collaborations this way, and this is why our work together remains amongst my favorite in this career so far. Sinca's remix takes the project to yet an even higher level for me as her magical, almost mystical take on the original moved me to tears upon first listen in the car. I hope 'The Light' can be a moving, emotional release now for many others too as it reaches new dance floors and audiences around the world.”
Balancing dancefloor energy with the track’s slow-burning essence, Sinca takes The Light into her own rhythmic dimension. With an effortless flair, she showcases her aptitude for infectious grooves that have earned the attention of some of the industry’s most revered acts.
Reflecting on her interpretation, Sinca mentioned,
“The first time I heard Dosem and Sohmi’s track, it immediately sparked ideas. Between Dosem’s signature acid textures and Sohmi’s groovy (and kinda sensual!) vocals, there was already such a strong world to play in. I really enjoyed exploring it from my own angle, especially by introducing some unexpected percussion and shaping a main drop that brings a new kind of energy to the song. I’m very happy to be part of this Purified EP, and it’s always a pleasure working with Nora and the team.”
